Mexican satellite program now owned by a joint venture with
Loral
(49% Loral, 26% Telefonica Autrey and 25% Mexican government). The
privatization occured in Oct 1997, the 75% of Satmex costed $688 million.
The company emerged from financial restructuration in Feb 2006. Was sold to a
group of private investors in 2011 for $6.25 million plus covering $198 million
in debt.
The company was bought by
Eutelsat
for $1142 million in 2013 ($831 million of share capital).
