Germany

In the 30ies, a space organization (Verein für Raumschiffahrt, society for space travel) was created with members as famous as Wernher von Braun and H. Oberth. In 1931 they managed to launch a rocket with liquid ergols. During the second world war Germany developed the V2 missile. In 1962 Germany started cooperating with European countries when the COPERS was created. Germany has been part of ESRO and ELDO. It is now member of ESA. Has created in July 1989 a federal space agency: DARA (Deutsche Agentur für RaumfahrtAngelegenheiten). Member of Intersputnik.
