Program: ST5


NASA's Space Technology 5 program.

Three micro-satellites demonstrate the benefits of a constellation (string of pearls) to make simultanous measurements. Will be 100-200 km appart. This project is called Nanosat Constellation Trailblazer.

To measure, from 3 points at the same time, the Earth's magnetic field. After one month, the satellites are operating nominaly.

The mission was successful and demonstrated a constellation flight on 24 May 2006 (350 km apart).
