Program: TerreStar

Terrestar Networks is a US operator to offer advanced mobile services in the 2 GHz band to North America with a GEO spot beam satellite system. Will also use an ATC.

TerreStar will offer a diverse mix of high-bandwidth services including voice, circuit-switched and packet-switched data, fax and paging to subscribers utilizing mobile and transportable terminals, including handheld devices.

Two satellites were purchased from SS/L.

In Oct 2008, the European subsidiary (TerreStar Europe Limited) filled a request for 2 GHz MSS spectrum. It was granted in Dec 2008.

TerreStart Networks Inc filled for chapter 11 in October 2010.
