Program: Thinsat
Thinsat is a USA program from Virginia Space to launch nano satellites
(0.1U) carrying experiments to promote and progress STEM education. 70 schools
from 9 states participate. Experiments data is returned in real time through
Globalstar.
12 satellites were launched on 17 April 2019 by
Antares
#10 and placed into a low LEO (approx 200 km), therefore staying in orbit for 2
or 3 weeks only. Satellites between 1 and 3 kg each. Satellite size: 11.1 x
11.4 x 1.25 cm. Satellites are connected in groups of 3, connected by
ribbons.
