ARGOS Néo on a Generic Economical and Light Satellite
30 kg nanosatellite, 12U cubesat, built by Hemeria, France
The satellite will be fitted with a miniaturised ARGOS Néo instrument,
which is 10-times smaller than the equivalent previous-generation device. The
instrument collects and determines the position of low-power signals and
messages sent by the 20,000 ARGOS beacons now in service worldwide.
A new Argos constellation is planned to start in 2022, maybe called
Kinéis constellation. Each satellite would be 30 kg, eletric propulsion,
with anti-collision capability.
Still operational in Jan 2022.
