Numerous telecommunications experiments were carried out. With the satellite's 9 m antenna only small Earth antennas were needed. Scholar TV was provided to american children in the Rockies and Alaska. It was also used by SITE (Satellite Instructional Television Experiment) in 1975 to try and solve educational problems of India (half success). It also enabled communications between 2 unmanned spacecrafts.
