Radarsat 2
Launch initially planned in 2001. Worth C$305 million. MacDonald Dettwiler will
be responsible for the in-orbit satellite and commercialisation. Orbimage will
market the pictures worldwide.
The Platform was changed because the OSC platform originally planned could not
be exported from the US.
The satellite will be operated by
Telesat.
The satellite lost a gyroscope in early 2019

Alenia Aerospazio will provide the satellite platform and the radar antenna
deployment support structure for C$74 million.
SAR antenna 15 x 1.5 m. 5.3 GHz radar. Resolution from 3 m (25 km²
pictures) to 100 m (500 km² pictures). Lateral vision. Revisit every 24
days. EMS Technologies Canada produced the SAR with T/R Alcatel modules.
Resolution: up to 3 m.
