Will carry Chinese and 10 European scientific experiments identical to those on Cluster. One additional instrument is an imager to monitor energeitc neutral atoms.

This is the polar satellite.

The satellite has experienced multiple problems with killer electrons in summer 2004 and both the main and backup attitude control computers failed. Attitude cannot be changed anymore.

In May 2005, the mission was extended till Dec 2006.
