American scientific satellites launched from Sep 1962 to Aug 1969 as piggyback payloads. 32 satellites launched.

Were designed to send back data on environmental effects of space on materials and processes. One to 27 kg satellites on random orbits. 1.6 to 8 W power. Transmissions turned off by timer after 6 to 12 months. Built by TRW.
