Program: Galaxy


Telecommunication program operated by Panamsat (previously HCI), now Intelsat

In Jun 2020 Intelsat ordered several satellites for C-band transition:
_ 4 satellites from Maxar: Galaxy 31, 32, 35, 36 to be delivered in 2022 based on 1300 platform
_ 2 satellites from Northrop Grumman: Galaxy 33 and Galaxy 34 based on GEOStar platform
_ 1 satellite from Maxar: Galaxy 37 to be delivered in 2023 based on 1300 platform


Previous plans (Galaxy KA, S2787) include Ka-band satellites (uplink: 17.3-17.7 GHz ; downlink 24.75-25.15 GHz plus 17.7-17.8 GHz limited to international use), authorized by FCC in Jun/Jul 2009: The first Galaxy KA should go to 89.1°W


Galaxy BSS2: 90.9°W (originally requested at 95.15°W)
Galaxy BSS2: 85°W
Galaxy BSS3: 99.1°W
Galaxy BSS4: 67.5°W
