Instruments on all satellites

Other instruments are used occasionnaly:

SBUV (Solar Backscatter UV radiometer) [on NOAA 11 onwards]: ozone distribution
ERBE (Earth Radiation Budget Experiment) [on NOAA 09 & 10]: radiation gains and losses (scanning instruments and non-scanner)
SARSAT [on NOAA 08 onwards]
Argos for data collection on NOAA second generation: 06 onwards

The primary command and data acquisition (CDA) stations are located in Fairbanks, Alaska, and Wallops Island, Va.
