Program: Saocom

SAtélite Argentino de Observación COn Microondas

This is an Argentinan program for remote sensing satellites using SAR technology (L-band).
Headed by CONAE.

Two satellites are planned in the first phase of the program.

Saocom satellites are planned to be part of the joint Italian-Argentina SIASGE constellation (Sistema Italo-Argentino de Satélites para Gestión de Emergencias), which will also comprise the Italian COSMO-SkyMed satellites.

Status: launch initially planned in 2010, launched in 2018
