P&T Luxembourg, A Eutelsat signatory, booked six 72 MHz transponders in the 11.20-11.45 GHz band for the satellite lifetime and turned those transponders to SES in May 2000. BskyB secured 4 transponders the same way with BT.

Total cost with insurance: approx $200 million. Tested at 33°E

On 12 & 13 Sep 2009, the satellite started experiencing attitude problems. Eutelsat resolved the problem.
