Program: Nahuel
Argentine first telecommunication program operated by
Nahuelsat.
The broadcasting license will be for 24 years, with an extension option for an
additional 6 years.
The
Nahuelsat
control center will be collocated with the Ground Station in the Buenos Aires
area. After an agreement with the operator of
Brasilsat
the system will be operated by the Brazilian company.
In Nov 2006, it is announced that Arsat, the state-controlled satellite
operator of Argentina, will take over assets (
Nahuel 1A,
the 72°W slot, and an earth station) of Nahuelsat. They also plan to fill
the 81°W slot. The plan is to lease
GE 6
and move the
Nahuel 1A
to 81°W.
